Hello! I'm Jessica!!!
I am originally from Southern California and have been in the Northern Nevada area for 9 years now. My husband (Dan) and I have been together for 16 years (almost 17!) and we have 4 beautiful kiddos, 1 wild dog, and 3 cats! We are a homeschooling family who enjoys playing video games and going on hikes! One fun fact about me... I put wayyyyyy too much thought into how many exclamation marks are acceptable before sending any email!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So how did I get started in photography?
After two tough pregnancies and postpartum journeys, I decided to invest in a camera to capture all the stuff that I found beautiful! First it was the hikes, then my kids, then friends and their families!
I officially started my professional photography journey in September of 2020 when my husband finally convinced me to get a business license.
After my 3rd pregnancy in 2021, I really got this calling to document births. So in early 2022, I enrolled in a birth photography certification program and started working the program. During that same time, I also attended A LOT of local styled shoots! At one of those style shoots, I met another photographer who was also pregnant (oh did I forget to mention I was pregnant with #4 in 2022?). I slowly built up the courage to ask if she wanted to document her upcoming birth, and to my ABSOLUTE SURPRISE, she said YES!

I get called at 3am that it was time! I was (luckily?) already awake dealing with pregnancy issues of my own! I grabbed my bag and drove about five minutes down the street to her house, and got to document the most amazing birth ever! I remember driving home and just staying awake and editing the ENTIRE gallery and delivering it less than 24 hours after mom gave birth. I have never felt more called to do something than I felt that night. I felt comfortable in the space. Being a mom of 3 (at the time), I knew what were important moments for me, and I was so excited to I got to show a mom all the support and love she received. I was so happy that I invested in myself by enrolling in a birth photography course that sent me down the path of success (shout out Tavia Redburn for amazing tools for aspiring birth photographers!). I am so happy that I FINALLY got the feeling of, "THIS is what I WILL do for the rest of my life".
I love documenting all the moments, but these ones just seem a little extra special.
It has been the highest honor to document mother’s entering motherhood and providing them with a gallery to look back on for a lifetime. Each birth is so different and sacred. I can’t wait to keep showing women how amazing they are when they bring life to the world!
